When it comes to genre, the book is more of a blender of a few. There are thriller elements, particularly in the beginning as craziness occurs in our modern world. It becomes much more fantasy after the first sixty pages. Think "Fish out of Water" fantasy trope. There's also a smattering of the Literary RPG genre, though you won't find "Character Sheets" or anything remotely like that - more of a general power curve that is incorporated into the story. While not necessarily a genre, the book is very character-driven and dialogue heavy. I feel my strength lies in snappy dialogue rather than scene descriptions with this work, though over the years I've improved quite bit in this area.
